Engineering Trustworthy AI Systems: From Foundation Models to Real-World Applications
Recent advances in foundation models have significantly expanded the capabilities of artificial intelligence, enabling applications ranging from intelligent assistants to autonomous decision-support systems. However, deploying these technologies in real-world environments requires more than powerful models—it demands architectures that are reliable, explainable, secure, and adaptable. This talk presents an engineering perspective on modern AI systems, introducing concepts such as transformer models, embeddings, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and LLMOps. The discussion explores best practices for integrating enterprise knowledge, external tools, and human oversight while maintaining scalability and responsible AI principles. Attendees will also examine current research trends in computational intelligence and identify future opportunities in agentic AI, multimodal systems, and human-centered intelligent computing.
