Governing the Autonomous Supply Chain: Applying a Maturity Framework to Agentic AI in ERP Procurement
As enterprises move agentic AI from pilot projects into core ERP-driven procurement and supply chain workflows, adoption is outpacing the frameworks needed to govern it. Industry analysts now name decision governance, auditable autonomy, and multi-agent coordination as defining priorities for 2026 , yet many procurement organizations still lack a structured way to assess where they stand on the path from manual processes to autonomous, agent-driven operations, or how to validate agentic systems before and after they gain decision authority. This talk presents a five-level, seven-dimension maturity model for AI and agentic-AI adoption in ERP-driven procurement and supply chain systems, developed through direct implementation experience migrating a large public-sector procurement landscape. Drawing on large-scale data governance work the talk translates abstract AI-governance principles into a concrete roadmap: what to automate first, what guardrails autonomous agents need before acting independently, and how to continuously test and validate agentic behavior in production ERP environments. Attendees leave with a practical framework for benchmarking their own procurement AI maturity.
